If you want to save the contact list in a different folder, select the folder before you select New contact list. On the People page, on the toolbar, select the arrow next to New contact and then select New contact list. Tip: If you want to group contacts for other reasons than sending email, you can create a folder instead. Then add contacts to the folder. On the People page, select All contact lists in the left pane, or search for the contact list name.

Eyal dev. Actually, on the startup, although when I first made it the default email client, the program was already open and it crashed immediately.
The problem that you're facing is that we fail to load your Contacts. Here are steps that will allow you to start over: 1. Restart WL Mail. See if it solves your problem. That said, I didn't try it so I recommend just backing up the entire [Windows user folder].
After resintalling the Windows and Windows Live Mail, copying the previous files did work and there is not import Windows Live Contacts from file option. What would hapeen when I replaced the contents of the DBStore folder is I would get an error when running the Windows Live Mail Client and it wouldn't see any of the previous contacts even though I could see from a binary inspection of the contacts.
Now I was trying to replace the files in that folder so if the data files were independent the GUID change itself wouldn't matter. What I discovered is it does! At this point, I leave it up to you as to how to proceed. I'd suggest either exporting your contacts so they can be reimported under the new GUID. You might also be able to just continue using the old GUID but I don't know the ramifications of this and wouldn't recommend it.
